Daws the Gnome

Dawson - The small city with the bright future

Dawson is a progressive community in the heart of the farm land. We are known for our gnomes located throughout the community. The Library houses many gnomes that have been hand carved by a local artist, the gnomes are carved out to replicate a selected person from the community. The City Park also is home to many gnomes made out of cement, it is a fun place to visit and spend the day. There is an outdoor swimming pool, volleyball court, tennis courts, basketball court, and softball complex. Dawson further now has a new Frisbee-Disk golf course and playground equipment located in Veterans Park.

If you're planning on staying, the City of Dawson has a campground with ten camp areas that have electrical hook-ups and water service. There is a dump station within two blocks of the campground. There are three shelterhouses and playground equipment. The Picket Fence Motel is located next to Highway 212 and the Swimming Pool Park. Call for reservations 320-769-4787. Pets are welcome. Two other locations to stay at are The Guest House, 448 6th Street, reservations call 320-769-2005 or 320-226-4646 and Ashling Bed & Breakfast, 1122 Pine Street, reservations call 320-769-2723.
